You Have Come So Far

Many of you have been on this journey with us since the very beginning. For those of you who have not, this is how far our little Garrin has come since his birth in August. No, the pictures don’t tell his whole story. They don’t show the reality of 1 lb 9 oz. They don’t show the chest tubes, the PICC lines, or the blood transfusions. They don’t characterize the doctors’ words that described various issues as being ominous, a bad sign, or requiring treatment that would be the last resort. They don’t show the tears that were shed or the countless prayers that were sent up. But they do show the bruises that Garrin’s little body experienced during his quick and very rough birth, 17 weeks before his due date. They show a beautiful little boy who was loved from the very start. They show a warrior who survived against all odds, a miracle. And they show, in a very tangible sense, the power of prayer.

Happy due date week, my sweet son. ❤️ “To the moon and back” doesn’t touch how much Mommy and Daddy love you.

“Remember how far you’ve come, not just how far you have to go. You are not where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be.” ~Rick Warren
